From the Flight Deck & Preparation Station here in Phoenix, Arizona we are getting amped for the best PolyParadise yet. The budget has been set and registration is now open.

This year's Burning Man Theme is Evolution.  PolyParadise is evolving too. For years I have resisted 'Requiring' camp participation as my own Community Model envisions members doing without being asked, or seeing that something should be done and doing it without the need for recognition or praise. That is what my ideal Community looks like.  In the past PolyParadise has come close to this paradigm but never gets over the hump to make it fully realized.

We have many commonalities as PolyCampers other than being Poly or Poly Friendly.  The evolution of PolyParadise will bring us together around one of the greatest pleasures we have as humans. (Please get your mind out of the gutter) I am talking about our mutual love of cooking and breaking bread with each other.  Meal time - 'If you cook it...They will eat'   'If its clean...Its not dirty'

No matter when you arrive, each day you will have the opportunity to feast on a smorgasbord of food prepared by your fellow campers.  Part of our growth as a Camp is to truly provide for each other.  Each of us participating in some way in the Creation & Cooking of Meals. The side benefit will be an always clean kitchen, clean pots and happy smiling full bellies. 

The 2009 Registration Process requires that you participate in some way to the camp, this sharing will take place within the Kitchen and General Cleanup.  Volunteer opportunities include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (Preparation, Serving & Cleanup), or  General Kitchen - Community Space Patrol (Morning, Afternoon, Evening).  You need only 'Volunteer' for one day. 

You are highly encouraged to Cook, please plan to provide for 25 people, with multiple folks doing that each day at each meal there will be plenty to eat and a clean Kitchen.  This way each day all of us get to have a chance at being a Gourmet Chef, while secretly adding our special ingredients. Of course mine is PLAYA DUST!!! Remember Playa Dust is a condiment and goes well with everything. There will not be anyone to track you down if you do not fulfill your commitment, But everyone will know who you are as there will be a listing of everyone and their responsibilities, peer pressure may be the best incentive  As commitments are made and time-slots on particular days are filled, those choices will be removed.

To start things off, we will again be serving Trash Can Turkey (80lbs) Stuffing & Gravy for Friday night dinner.

You will also have the opportunity to volunteer for leading a Poly High Tea or for the Human Carcass, which are both encouraged but not required. If you fill out the registration form and choose to cook, but do not know what you will in-fact cook, at a later date you can login to Google Docs , Send Email to Scotto or post to the Yahoo Group. It would be appreciated not to have to track you down...
