Crazy left-wing atheist hippie skeptic bisexual polyamorous ethical-slut artist.
fourth time to burning man in 2008.
a very real challenge every year. logistically: 3000 miles from geographical home: Vermont (New York city and black rock city are my heart/mind homes) - and financially: starving artist with a menial job, searching for patron.
2005: solo.
2006: with partner Laurie.
2007: with Laurie and her partner and my pal Vasco.
2008: solo.
all at PolyParadise.
Why burning man? to travel outside and to travel inside. to give and to get. to celebrate and to mourn. to be part of a magical urban community as well as to experience individuality and raw nature. the quest for awe and wonder awaiting on the horizon line.
human beings are my favorite thing while on this brief visit to the planet - and also my least favorite - demarcated along the war/art meridian - and at burning man I have seen some of their best energies at work and play!
Expectations and hopes: adventure, participation, play, fire, inspiration, sharing, maps, art, interaction, the sun, learning, music, imagination, sex, drugs, joy, dancing, connection, dust, play, heat, awe, work, exploring, self-expression, play, letting-go, challenge, openness, friendship... did I mention play?
Volunteer on the playa? my shoulder is available - and i will look for wheels that can best use my both-ends-burning energies.

with art on the walls, music in the air, political/cultural rants over the kitchen table, great films on the screen, orgasms in the bedroom*, and playa dust all over the floors: http://www.alexhirka.com
