Dick Moberg

I’m in my mid-50’s and have lived an entrepreneurial life that has taken me to lots of places around the world with a focus on medical gizmos and brain gadgets. I was a pretty bad (borderline pathologic) workaholic for most of the last few decades and decided I needed to change my life style before I woke up dead and realized I hadn’t lived. Burning Man has been an important part of my “rehab” in exploring stuff I always wanted to do…but never had time.

Recently, I’ve been collaborating with some friends to build a solar-powered, brain-controlled, Daiquiri machine…which we hope will make its debut on the playa next year.

My first year at Burning Man was 2004 where I flew in with everything I needed to camp with (tent, bike, etc.). That was a bit challenging but fortunately I was “adopted” by two women nearby when they saw me eating my third meal of tuna fish out of the can. In 2005 I decided to bring a friend and join a theme camp due to the facilities they provide. The Human Carcass Wash at PolyParadise cracked me up so I figured this was the camp for me.

I’ve been single all my life...probably a result of my business. I’ve had many wonderful relationships over the years, but always gravitate back to being single. Though I live in the heart of the “Gayborhood” in Philadelphia, I’m straight, but very open minded. A poly relationship is probably the only one that would work for me since I’m still somewhat “on a mission” with my work. So I look forward to learning more from fellow Poly campers.
